I would like an opinion on my book?

Several years ago I wrote a book that was inspired by a really strange dream where I was talking to a girl on the phone, but we were in separate realities, but I digress. The story is about a guy named Rodney that gets a text message from his dead girlfriend, Halley, and he spends the entire book trying to find her, at one point his older brother has the main character committed to a psychiatric hospital. To make a long story short, Rodney gets to the alternate reality where he learns that his girlfriend is being harassed by her ex-boyfriend, and is even threatening her parents. They manage to free her parents and are forced to confront the ex-boyfriend. What is your opinion?
