Why do some parents don't want their child to date outside their race?

i get crap alot by both my mom and her new bf bout how i should only date black girls to preserve our race. i can talk to girls outside of my race but only keep them as friends. What i also dont understand is that her brother, my uncle rodney is married to a white girl and their like best friends.
